Pancreas/ Pancreatology

Pancreas is the one which is present behind the stomach which is mainly involved in releasing hormone and enzymes that plays a vital role in our body. Digestion of food occurs by the release of enzymes into the small intestine by the pancreas. Inflammation of pancreas results in a condition known as Pancreatitis that occurs due to activation of enzymes before entering the small intestine. Pancreas also releases hormone known as Insulin and Glucagon that manages and utilizes the food as energy when they enter the blood stream.
